Day 13 week 4 Word 6/08/10

Review Day I have to say that this was best class out of all of them. This brought everything together in access. The problem we did in class had three tables time, faculty, and lunch. I now understand that to make the tables have a relationship you have to have the primary key in the other table but not has the primary key. For example faculty ID was the primary key in the first table so it had to be in the second table. In the time table I had faculty ID and time ID has the primary key.

Day 12 week 4 Word 6/07/10

On Thursday we also when over the things in the beginning of the book. The things in the beginning of the book are about computer memory. I learned that a domain name is yahoo.com this the web site without the www. The other thing I learned is that people will never use all the memory that the computer stores want you to buy. Floppy disks are a thing of the past. I haven't seen one of those in years. The keyboard is one of the most important devices used to communicate with the computer. For this reason, make sure the keyboard you purchase has 101 to 105 keys, is comfortable and easy to use. Word is easy just a lot of typing. I never used a border in 2007 they are okay just wish you could see a preview of it before you pick it.

Day 11 week 3 Powerpoint 6/03/10

No test for powerpoint so I start some of word today and work on my blog. I also look at access and excel again for the test next week. I think I understand excel a little better.

Day 10 week 3 Powerpoint 6/02/10

Chapter 2 in powerpoint as a lot of steps but is easy. I learned that the layout of the paper is very important. The one I never used before is the picture with caption. Quick styles is cool to use in chapter 2 we uses it in the background. Using shapes give the presentation more of a pop. The lab in Chapter was about pests and the picture was on google. They was easy to find after I used google and not yahoo. It was no chapter 3 in power point. I don't come to class I worked and was sleep so I when to sleep than get up and worked from home.

Day 9 week 2 Powerpoint 6/1/10

No class on Monday because of Veteran's Day. On Tuesday I started chapter 1 in power point. Power point is easy back you use it a few times. I really didn't learn anything new but the document theme. It just give your presentation a different look. Powerpoint was easy so I did the lab and cases and places that day in class. The Lab was named Is a hybrid car right for you it was only five slides. The cases and place was about recycling. I had time to start on Chapter 2 pictures on powerpoint.

Day 8 week 2 Access 5/27/10

Test Day the test was know joke we had to act like we was working for a billing company. We had four different tables the tables had to have a relationship. A relationship with one table not two or more. My test was wrong I didn't have time or know how to do it. I hope the review will help my only problem is building a relationship with the tables.

Day 7 week 2 Access 5/26/10

Today was a review I was wrong on the Labs so I have to start them over. I was thinking that on the query to make two tables come together the primary key canniot be the same. To show you did it right go query design under the create tab. Tomorrow I will start over on everything to made sure I get it right and learn everything for the test. Access is okay but I don't see myself using it in the future.

Day 6 week 2 Access 5/25/10

Chapter 2 Querying database builds on what we learned in Chapter 1 the query are a simply question that of which the datebase answers. For example if is was looking for people with the last name starting with J all the js will pop up. The wildcard are symbols that represent any character or combination of characters. One common wildcard, the asterisk (*), represents any collection of characters. The other symbol is the question mark (?) which means any indivdual characters. Criteria under design tab will find the person you are looking for. If you check the box you show the person name of the Query if not checked it will not show on the Query. An example is you are look for people that live in St. Louis not check the box and St. Louis will not but on the query. The parameter query prompts for input whenever it is used. AND criterion is each individual criterion must be true in order the compound criterion to be true. OR criterion is true provided either individual crierion is true.

Day 5 week 2 Access 5/24/10

Access is one of those program that are good if I have a business and had a lot of client I was working with. I took an access class before and never used the program since but I like it. Microsoft 2007 is better than 2003 because it is fun. Chapter 1 of access their is a space for the primary keys and that is the key that determine the unique identify. The primary keys is one of a kind a example is AC 35. In class we was playing with client and recruiter for a hospital. The thing to always change the field size the normal for a name is 30. And change the number and text if the number currency.

Day 4 5/20/10

Four days a week class wow I made it and a test every week. At the beginning of the class we when over Chapter 3. The hardest thing is the what if analysis with help from the book the first part is logical test, value if true, and value if false. It is hard because so most different thing can make it wrong. I have learned a lot about excel in these three chapters. The test was hard bt I got it at the end of the class.

Day 3 5/19/2010

We are going to do Chapter 3 tomorrow today we just doing Lab 2 in Chapter 3 Britney's Music Emporium it was hard because I don't know he was going to give us the worksheet so I did it by myself and it didn't work because I was missing the formulas in the cells. I stopped doing it I will do it after we go over Chapter 3 in class. So I did Chapter 1 casses and places and Chapter 1 lab.

Day 2 5/18/2010

A chapter a day so Chapter 2 in excel we when over using average, max, min. How to put the formulas in the worksheet. The range finder was something new but was very helpful to use. We played with the cell styles I never used that is was fast and easy to make the worksheet look different. Their are different buttons that pop up when you are in the cell doing different things like the auto fill options it gives the person the option of filling the cell by dragging the fill handle. The fill handle is the best thing I learn in Chapter 2. The workbook theme is used to make all the page match in color with the same colors it makes the worksheet look better.

Day 1 5/17/10

The first day was cool; we went over the syllabus where I learned that I have four assignments due everyday for three days one on Thursday. We are going to do two of them in class. One chapter a week starting with Excel. In chapter 1 we was told how to open excel, enter words and numbers. We also made a 3-D chart things I knew how to do already. I like Office 2007 better then Office 2003 but a lot of people don't. Summer school is new for me in all my college and high school years I never went to summer school. In college I was always thinking it is too long and I needed to work to pay for school.
